Christy Sheats Supporter Causes Christians to Speak Out

With so many views on Christianity in America, it’s hard to know where Christians as a whole stand on any issue. In the mass media we mostly learn about extremists. Their views are so bizarre that it makes for good entertainment. But there are many unwitting viewers who don’t understand that such views are extreme and they adopt them as their own.  This would not be much of an issue if it were an isolated few confused viewers. But the problem is far worse. There are entire congregations devoted to hate. In the wake of recent mass shooting of 49 gay night club patrons, many of these self-described Christian leaders have surfaced to claim their 15 minutes of infamy. And now we have Jennifer Mayers.

The blog entry of Jennifer Mayers makes ever so clear to us that something needs to give. In one of her more recent posts, Mayers defends the Texas murderer, Christy Sheats, who gunned down her own two daughters in cold blood. Mayers thinks Sheats should be martyred and cites “God’s will” when describing Sheats’ killing of her own children. The blog entry is so shocking, it had to be examined very closely to be certain it was not satire or the phenomenon known as Poe’s Law, whereby a person writes something from a Christian point of view, which is fabricated and purposefully so ridiculous that it cannot be distinguished from the real views of actual Christian extremists. The blog appears to be genuinely Jennifer Mayers.

Jennifer Mayers’ blog entry posted on June 27, 2016 on her blog:

America’s Martyr: NO Race Mixing

Friends, I invite you to ponder the image above.  The beautiful woman is Christy Sheats.  The Texas wife and mother who is being vilified in the media for shooting and killing her teenage daughters.  It makes for a great headline in mainstream media but what goes unsaid is even more powerful. A devout Republican and gun rights advocate, she no doubt discovered that both of her daughters had been promiscuous and were sleeping with black boys and she took it upon herself to put an end to that cycle.  She was brave enough to stand up and say ENOUGH!  Not in MY house! And she should be lauded. Race mixing is not only an ungodly thing, it causes such confusion and humiliation.  Not only for the children born of this sin, but for the grandparents who would have to carry this burden. Mrs. Sheats was the picture of elegance and I know she would not want to have to explain to her friends why she was carrying around a yellow mixed baby that her promiscuous daughters had created. Rather than be forced into this life of depravity and sin, she chose to go down grasping her weapon in the name of God.  As far as I am concerned, she is a martyr for Christ. “It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away, but that’s exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns,” she wrote in March, along with an anti-gun control video. She was just your typical wife and mother, doing everything she could to protect her children from the promiscuous and sinful life that they had become sucked into. Before we slander her name or make her out to be a villain, I think we should take a moment of silence and appreciate her bravery and her devout Will to die for Christ. A martyr indeed, my friends.  And Glory be to God, as always for HE is in control.

The tragedy of the murder was in itself enough extremism without the views of those condoning it. The blog entry is certainly an extremist’s view on an extremist’s murderous rampage. And Mayers is only being open and honest with her views, something that cannot be said about many who think like her but know better than to advertise it. But what do “‘mainstream Christians” think about this? Where are the voices of reason to counter Mayers’ extremist views? As you finish reading the article in shock and dismay and even a feeling of “this can’t be real,” your eyes suddenly move to the comments section where the voices of many others remind us that there are voices of reason. Many of them. And this should come as a great relief. See the comments for yourself here.

Lori says: I’m going to try to be as nice as possible when I type this. Who ever you are that wrote this, could you actually stand and face God with this crap. God did not hate. It’s obvious that you do. So I tell you what , why don’t you keep your opinions to your self. The world is messed up enough without your ignorance adding to it. Everyone wants to put God’s name in something but fail to realize how sad he must be with all of the foolishness happening. Please remember God is love not hate.

To which Jennifer Mayers responded “Educate yourself on God’s Will. I am correct in my statements. ”

Rhonda says: Are you kidding me right now! Does this person honestly think that killing her daughters are ok and that God would approve!! It is not our place to decide who lives and dies. A true Christian would leave that decision for God. Each of us will have to answer to him soon. All we can do is live our life the best we can and try to always do the right thing. No one elses lifestyle should matter!

Tosha says: Something is seriously wrong with you… First off murder is a sin, no matter the reason, 2nd it states no where in the bible it is a sin to be outside your race. You are a sick person and need help.

Father Scott says: “Spreading Positivity through Jesus Christ”? Don’t you mean spreading hate and ignorance? You are NO Christian, nor are you following the word of Jesus. Jesus is ashamed of you!

It should come as some sense of comfort for secularists to know that what we see in the mass media is not necessarily representative of the mainstream Christian in America. Secularists should applaud Christians who stand up against the lunacy of their misguided peers.
